Yoo made an impressive promotional debut at UFC 316 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey, facing off against Jeka Saragih in the prelims. The fight lasted just 28 seconds, as Yoo knocked out the Indonesian fighter with a left hook.
Known as “Zombie Jr.,” Yoo aims to follow in the footsteps of his fellow countryman, “The Korean Zombie.” After his victory, Yoo thanked his teammates and sponsors, giving special credit to Chan Sung Jung, the former UFC featherweight title contender. Yoo said Jung helped make his UFC opportunity possible. While Jung never won the championship, Yoo wants to claim the UFC title and give it to his idol.
“There are so many people I’m thankful for—my whole team and my sponsors,” Yoo said. “The ‘Korean Zombie’ paid my way to come to the UFC. Now I’m here to finish what he couldn’t. I want to deliver a championship belt to him.”
