Kim Jong-min recently revealed that he gave an expensive gift to Kim Jong-guk’s mother as a return for a wedding present from Kim Jong-guk. During the show, Kim Jong-min showed his comedic side and recalled his early impressions of Kim Jong-guk, who was a popular and charismatic figure in the 1990s music scene. Kim Jong-min joked, “There was a saying that Jong-guk doesn’t hit fools. But I wasn’t scared because I met him more often on entertainment shows than on stage.”
Kim Jong-kook, a close friend of Kim Jong-min and the only one who knew about his wedding beforehand, surprised him by giving a refrigerator worth 3 million won as a wedding gift. Kim Jong-guk then shared that Kim Jong-min responded by sending a costly luxury gift to his mother. “I don’t think you’d get it if you gave it to me, so I think he gave it to my mom,” Kim Jong-guk said, surprising the audience.
The conversation also touched on Kim Jong-guk’s recent house purchase in Nonhyeon-dong, which he bought with full cash savings. He said, “I’ve never been interested in financial technology. I thought it was okay to live in a studio apartment. I’ve just been saving money,” revealing that this was his first house bought entirely with savings.
Kim Jong-min, on the other hand, admitted to having tried various financial ventures but faced setbacks. “I’ve done a lot of financial technology investments. I was even scammed investing in whiskey imports, meat restaurants, PC rooms, and shopping malls,” he said. He added that when he got married, his wife advised him to keep things simple. Fans now see Kim Jong-min as a devoted husband who listens carefully to his wife’s advice.
