Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has paid a Sallah visit to pilgrims from the state in Saudi Arabia, presenting each with a gift of 250 Saudi Riyals, approximately ₦105,000.
The visit took place on Saturday night at the pilgrims’ accommodation. During the visit, Governor Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the 2025 Hajj exercise, describing it as more successful than previous years, particularly the 2024 pilgrimage.
“Last year’s Hajj was also good, but this one is better. We are grateful to God for this success,” the governor said.
He explained that the purpose of his visit was to strengthen bonds with the pilgrims, offer prayers for Kano State and Nigeria, and extend Sallah greetings.
“Kano and Nigeria both need prayers,” he told the pilgrims. “I urge you to pray for the nation and for those who have died during this Hajj.”
Governor Yusuf offered his condolences to the families of pilgrims who passed away in Makkah, Madinah, and during the rites at Arafah. He also prayed for the safe return of those reported missing.
He advised the pilgrims to remain devoted in their acts of worship and avoid any behavior that could affect the sanctity of their pilgrimage.
The governor expressed his appreciation to the Kano State Hajj Commission and other stakeholders for their efforts in ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj operation.
