Kaiser Chiefs have announced a special 20th anniversary reissue of their breakthrough debut album Employment, originally released in 2005. The band is celebrating two decades of the influential record with several new formats, including unreleased material and remastered audio.
In keeping with the traditional 20-year anniversary gift of china, the band has dubbed the new editions the “China Anniversary” formats. The 1LP version will be pressed on white vinyl and includes the bonus track “Take My Temperature.” A 2LP set offers fans 15 additional tracks, featuring B-sides, CD single extras, and two previously unreleased songs exclusive to the format.
The deluxe 3CD edition provides the most extensive collection, including the original album alongside 40 extra tracks. These include unreleased demos, remixes, live recordings, and radio sessions, offering a detailed look at the band’s early rise from local gigs in Leeds to major festival stages.
Employment launched Kaiser Chiefs into the spotlight with hits like “I Predict a Riot,” “Oh My God,” and “Everyday I Love You Less and Less.” The album has been fully remastered at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios for this release.
The anniversary editions celebrate the legacy of an album that helped define the UK’s mid-2000s indie rock scene.
