Xander Schauffele will select the menu for the PGA Championship champions’ dinner at Quail Hollow, celebrating his first major win. He will join past Wanamaker Trophy winners, including Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and Brooks Koepka, for the event on Tuesday.
Schauffele made his breakthrough last year by narrowly beating Bryson DeChambeau to win the PGA Championship at Valhalla. He then won The Open Championship at Royal Troon, becoming a two-time major champion and one of the top players of his generation.
The five-star dinner will start with four appetizers: smoked goat cheese dates, pickled watermelon, clams casino shooters, and steak and bleu cheese crostini. For the main course, Schauffele chose a wagyu New York strip steak with blackened jumbo shrimp, whipped sweet potatoes, and a bourbon bone marrow reduction. This choice echoes Scottie Scheffler’s Masters menu, which featured a cowboy ribeye.
The champions’ dinner promises a memorable night honoring Schauffele’s impressive year and the sport’s best players.
