In a June 2025 interview with *Country Living*, Ben Napier shared how he typically spends Father’s Day with his family.
He explained that the day often starts with his daughters making French toast together. “Helen, the older one, could probably make it herself, but Erin likes to do it for me, so they all make it together,” Napier said. “I love it with regular white bread, but for a special occasion, she might use fancier bread, which I’m not going to say no to. I’ve never met a French toast I didn’t like.”
While Napier noted that he doesn’t usually receive gifts, there’s one tradition he looks forward to every year: a drive in one of their classic cars. “We have a small collection of classic cars,” he explained. “None of them are crazy valuable — just a ’95 Range Rover Classic, a ’99 Suburban, and my old truck, which I drive on the show. None of them are the kind of cars we only drive a few times a year.”
For him, the day is about simplicity and relaxation. “I enjoy going for a Sunday drive in one of our old cars, followed by a swim. Sometimes, we stop for a drink from Sonic or have ice cream. It’s a very laid-back day,” Napier said.
When asked about the qualities he hopes to pass on to his daughters, Napier mentioned his wife Erin’s imagination. “Erin is incredibly creative,” he said. “She has this amazing way of seeing the world. Her imagination can be both a gift and a challenge because it allows her to create beautiful things but also sometimes the most overwhelming scenarios. She can imagine both the best and worst outcomes, and I hope our daughters inherit that ability to dream big.”
Napier also reflected on one of his own strengths: living in the moment. “I’m good at being present,” he said. “I hope our girls take that from me. What happened yesterday is over. You can learn from it, but you can’t control tomorrow. Everything’s going to be okay, no matter what.”
