Carson Daly, co-host of TODAY, received a heartfelt and memorable gift from his 5-year-old daughter, Goldie, this Father’s Day. In honor of the holiday on June 15, Carson shared a school project Goldie created, which offered a delightful and innocent description of her dad.
In the Instagram post, Carson shared a photo of the project, which was placed in a blue frame. He captioned it, “Gonna miss these Father’s Day kid projects from pre-K!” The project featured Goldie’s own words as she described her father in a simple, yet endearing way.
Goldie began by writing, “My Daddy’s name is Carson, and I call him Daddy. He has grayish/greenish eyes and black hair. He is tall, taller than my Mom. I don’t know how old he is, but he is older than my mom.” She also shared details about her dad’s favorite clothing choices, saying he wears black sweatshirts and pants with boots on “colder days,” and has a large collection of hats. Goldie also mentioned that her dad’s favorite colors are black, blue, and gray.
Goldie went on to describe Carson’s love for food, noting, “He likes to eat steak and go to the Steak House where they have steak, French fries, pasta, and spaghetti.” She added that her dad enjoys riding his motorcycle around the block and playing tag with her. She even mentioned Carson’s job, writing, “He works at the ‘Today Show’ and just talks. He is also on ‘The Voice.’ He’s a judge and holds a microphone and talks. When Daddy is home, he sometimes puts me to bed.”
In his Instagram caption, Carson expressed his own Father’s Day wishes: “Happy Father’s Day dads & friends! Hope you’re playing golf, drinking something strong & eating some beef.” He also joked, adding, “ps- I wish I was a ‘judge!’ On The Voice!” with several emojis.
Carson Daly has often shared glimpses of his life with his wife Siri and their four children: Jackson, Etta, London, and Goldie. Carson had previously revealed in a video during the pandemic how the family decided on Goldie’s name. Reflecting on their Irish heritage, he said they chose Goldie as a perfect fit, calling her their “pot of gold” at the end of their family rainbow.
