Dylan Dreyer found a creative way to celebrate Father’s Day with her family by bringing the ballgame home. On June 15, the TODAY co-host shared a photo on Instagram showing homemade tickets her children created for a pretend New York Yankees–Boston Red Sox game held in their living room on June 14. The gesture was part of a special tribute to her husband, Brian Fichera.
In her post, Dreyer explained that they “took the kids to the Red Sox game… in the living room,” noting they needed tickets to make the experience feel complete. The photo included a selfie of the couple with their three sons—Calvin, 8, Ollie, 5, and Rusty, 3—along with the hand-drawn tickets. Made with crayon, the tickets featured detailed elements such as the date, team logos, section and seat numbers, the name of Fenway Park, and even a barcode to resemble real game passes.
The Red Sox won the actual game 4–3, completing a three-game sweep over their longtime rivals, the Yankees. Dreyer, a devoted Red Sox fan, has been known to share her family’s love for the team. Just last month, she and her son Calvin threw the ceremonial first pitch at Fenway Park during the team’s first-ever Celiac Awareness Night. Calvin was diagnosed with celiac disease at around age six, and the event held special meaning for the family.
At that game, the entire family was in attendance, and Dreyer spent time with the Red Sox mascot, Wally the Green Monster. Reflecting on the experience, she wrote that Calvin called it “the best day of my life,” adding that she couldn’t agree more. Dreyer thanked the Red Sox organization for making the day unforgettable.
