The Indiana Fever and star player Caitlin Clark have struggled early in the 2025 WNBA season under new head coach Stephanie White, holding a 3-4 record. The team ended a three-game losing streak on Tuesday by defeating the Washington Mystics 85-76 in Indianapolis.
Clark has missed three consecutive games due to a quad strain sustained on May 24 in a loss to the New York Liberty. She is expected to be sidelined until at least June 10, which means she will miss at least one more game.
Despite the tough start, Clark appears to have formed a strong bond with Coach White. Before Tuesday’s game, Clark gave White a friendship bracelet inspired by Taylor Swift’s recent “Eras Tour.” Clark, a fan of Swift, received many bracelets from concertgoers, which she then passed on as a gesture of friendship.
Fans on social media praised Clark’s thoughtful act. Comments included “she loves Steph sm,” and “Look at my happy camper.” Others joked about the bracelet bringing good luck or expressed their affection for Coach White.
Clark, who made the All-WNBA first team in her rookie year, has continued to impress this season. In four games, she is averaging 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game.
The Fever will next face Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Saturday.
