At the conclusion of Jason Aldean’s 2023 Highway Desperado Tour, the country star showed his appreciation for his opening act, Corey Kent, with a remarkable gift.
It is common in country music for headliners to thank their opening acts with a special present at the end of a tour. When Corey Kent appeared on Taste of Country Nights recently, he revealed what Aldean gave him.
Kent laughed as he said, “I knew you were gonna ask me this, and this is gonna make me seem bougie,” before sharing, “He got me a Rolex.”
But the watch was more than just an expensive accessory. Kent explained that Aldean had taken him “under his wing” by inviting him on his first major tour. Aldean told Kent, “Garth Brooks did this for me when I went on my first big tour — he got me a Rolex, and I still have it to this day.”
For Kent, the gift was deeply meaningful. He said he had never received anything so valuable or important before and almost cried when Aldean gave it to him.
At first, Kent kept the watch in a safe and only took it out occasionally to admire it. He wore it once to a wedding but felt it was too special to be locked away. He decided to wear it more often, saying, “This is dumb. This is an awesome watch and I’m gonna let it spend its life in a safe? So then I started wearing it and I was like, ‘I’m just gonna start wearing this as much as I can.’”
Now in 2025, Corey Kent is opening for Morgan Wallen on select dates of the “I’m The Problem” Tour, starting June 20 at NRG Stadium in Houston. Fans are eager to see what gifts Wallen might give him next.
