Hoang Minh Nhan, Chairman of the Vietnam – Russia Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, recently highlighted the strong growth in bilateral ties between Vietnam and Russia. He pointed out that cooperation between the two countries has expanded across various levels, from central governments to local regions. Both nations have actively worked on implementing agreements and initiatives in key areas, such as energy, defense, and personnel training.
Nhan also emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City has established strong partnerships with several Russian localities. The Vietnam – Russia Friendship Association, along with its Russian counterpart, has signed a cooperation program that will run through 2030, focusing on people-to-people diplomacy.
Berkutov Mikhail, the Consul of the Russian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, reaffirmed the warmth and trust in the relationship, which has withstood challenges over time. He described the bilateral ties as rooted in shared historical experiences, culture, and national traits. Mikhail praised both nations’ patriotism, resilience, creativity, and humanitarian spirit.
The Russian diplomat expressed confidence that the ongoing cooperation would help both countries achieve their goals and contribute to regional peace and security.
Both Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam and Russian President Vladimir Putin have also voiced satisfaction with the development of their comprehensive strategic partnership. This cooperation spans key areas including trade, energy, education, science, technology, and innovation.
