The Pawtucket Backpackers group announced they have received a generous donation from the Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church.
Joanne Bonollo, founder of the Backpackers, said the donation came as the church made the difficult decision to close its doors. Despite this, the church’s members and leaders wanted to continue their legacy of helping others. They chose to support local groups that share their values of compassion, care, and community.
