Vedang Raina, the rising star who made his debut in The Archies and impressed audiences with his performance in Jigra, recently turned 25. In an exclusive interview with Subhash K Jha, the young actor opened up about his career, personal milestones, and reflections on aging.
At 25, Vedang admits that the age feels daunting. “Honestly, I know a lot of people who’ll think I’m crazy for saying this, but it’s scary being 25,” he shared. “I feel like I graduated just yesterday. And 25 is officially the ‘mid-twenties,’ which feels like a major responsibility. But luckily, I’m as focused as ever on the goals I want to achieve.”
When asked about how he celebrated his birthday, Vedang explained that he kept things simple. “I spent my birthday at home with some friends. Nothing too fancy. I don’t really believe in celebrating my birthday; it feels like any other day to me. I usually just spend it with family, and this year was probably the most I’ve done in many years.”
For Vedang, the best gift this year came in the form of a heartfelt birthday card from his parents. He fondly recalled his childhood birthday memories, often spent at theme parks with his family. “I actually share the exact same birthday as my mom, so we celebrate together. She says my birth was her best birthday gift,” he added.
Despite his growing fame, Vedang doesn’t crave the attention that often comes with birthdays. “I don’t care about being pampered,” he said. “I’ve never been the type to get pampered, neither by friends nor family. I don’t need fancy presents, and I’m totally okay with that. Birthdays have really changed for me since becoming an adult.”
On the topic of his career, Vedang revealed he is far from content with his progress. “I’m never satisfied with my career,” he admitted. “I’m restless right now, wanting to restart working as soon as I can. I know I have so much more to give. I’m just trying to be patient in the meantime.”
Looking ahead, Vedang envisions himself at 26 as more experienced and polished. “I only think about my career. I want to be more proficient and successful. I’m also excited to pursue music more seriously in the coming year.” He added that his long-term goals span five to six years, with hopes to revisit this conversation again at 30. “Maybe by then, I’ll be satisfied,” he chuckled.
As Vedang continues to carve his path in the entertainment industry, he remains driven, grounded, and focused on his ambitions.
