A Lethbridge family is once again channeling personal grief into a meaningful act of kindness with the return of the “Annie Effect” toy drive.
Bekah Olsen, in partnership with Lethbridge Family Services (LFS), has launched the third annual initiative in memory of her daughter Annie, who passed away in her sleep on October 6, 2022, at just three and a half months old.

June 20, 2025, would have marked Annie’s third birthday. To honour her memory, Olsen is asking community members to donate toys and gifts that a typical three-year-old might enjoy—items that would have brought Annie happiness on her special day.

The toy drive serves both as a tribute to Annie’s short life and as a way to bring joy to other young children in the community.
