Crazy Me Gifts & Apparel is celebrating its 10th anniversary throughout the month with sales, prizes, and a special parking lot party this Saturday. Located at 235 East 20th Street, the boutique has grown from a home-based business to a favorite shopping destination.
The anniversary celebration begins with a parking lot party from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The event will feature local vendors, including Simply Southern, Kentucky Mountain Coffee (offering free drinks), Doozie Doez, Chatty Snaps, and more. Attendees can enjoy giveaways, hourly prizes, free gifts with purchases, and discounts.
A 10% discount will be available on all items, with an additional 5% off for cash payments. “At Crazy Me, cash is king,” said owner Donna Southard.
Recently, Crazy Me Gifts was named “Best Gift Shop” in Owensboro Living’s Best of Owensboro awards and has received multiple Platinum and Gold honors in the Messenger-Inquirer’s Reader’s Choice Awards.
“I love my store, my staff, and my customers. It’s the best job ever,” Southard shared. “I truly believe we have the best customers, who have become friends. These relationships have been a personal blessing.”
Since opening its first storefront in 2015, Crazy Me Gifts has moved to its third brick-and-mortar location. However, Southard’s business began as a passion project in her home. “I became obsessed with helping people find the perfect, unique gift for all occasions — birthdays, weddings, and even tough times like bereavement,” she said.
Crazy Me specializes in custom T-shirts, laser engraving, embroidery, and school uniforms for Owensboro Catholic High School and Holy Name in Henderson. The shop also offers free delivery to local funeral homes and hospitals.
Southard credits her success to strong customer service and a focus on originality. “I try to find things exclusive to our store. We’ve kept doing our thing, even through the pandemic, and people have supported us all the way,” she said.
“This 10-year milestone is crazy to think about, and it’s only possible because of the community’s support,” Southard said. “We want to celebrate with everyone and hope all the friends we’ve made over the years will join us for the fun on Saturday.”
