The Hidden Hearing clinic in Letterkenny recently celebrated 15 years of serving the local community with a heartfelt event. The celebration was made even more memorable by a visit from Donegal’s beloved singer, Daniel O’Donnell. Daniel has a personal connection to the clinic, as his late mother was one of its patients. He was warmly greeted by staff and guests, bringing smiles and joy as he mingled and posed for photos.
In line with Hidden Hearing’s commitment to giving back, the team honored local resident Annie McCaul, who recently celebrated her 101st birthday, by presenting her with the Gift of Hearing.
Daniel O’Donnell said, “It was a real pleasure to be part of this celebration with Hidden Hearing in Letterkenny. Hearing loss can be very isolating, and the work this clinic does to reconnect people with the world around them is truly important. Meeting Annie and presenting her with the Gift of Hearing was especially touching. At 101, she’s an incredible woman, and I was honored to share that moment with her.”
The emotional presentation highlighted the day’s theme of celebrating life, connection, and the joy that comes with restored hearing.
Highland Radio’s Paul McDevitt Show broadcast live from the clinic, capturing the lively atmosphere. Guests enjoyed live music, refreshments, and had the chance to speak directly with the clinic’s expert team, including audiologists Mike Hearne and Aisling Sheridan Healy, as well as clinic coordinator Andrew Parke. Visitors were also encouraged to book free hearing tests and wax checks, receiving helpful advice on hearing health.
