Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former journalist Lauren Sanchez are reportedly set to marry next week in Venice, Italy, following a two-year engagement. According to sources cited by the *Daily Mail*, the ceremony is expected to be a high-profile event attended by celebrities and notable figures.
Bezos’ \$500 million superyacht, Koru, is said to be anchored off the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, which is home to the 16th-century Basilica bearing the same name. The island will reportedly be closed to the public from June 24 to June 29. Venice’s mayor has speculated that the wedding itself may take place aboard the yacht. Guests are expected to travel between the island and the vessel via a private tender service.
Further reports suggest that Bezos has also reserved the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, one of Venice’s most prestigious historic venues, from June 26 to June 28. It remains unclear whether the site will be used for the wedding or for associated events. The guest list is expected to remain under 200 and may include names such as Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, and members of the Trump family.
Each guest will reportedly receive custom hand-blown glassware from Laguna B, a Venetian brand known for its vibrant Murano-inspired designs. The glassware, founded by Marie Brandolini and now run by her son, features colorful stripes and floral motifs, with individual pieces retailing at around \$167. Additional luxurious gifts are also expected to be distributed, though details have not been disclosed.
Local bakery Rosa Salva Venetia will cater pastries for the multi-day festivities. These will include traditional Italian desserts such as tiramisu and fritelli, though the bakery will not be responsible for the wedding cake itself.
According to a 2023 *Vogue* interview, Bezos has left most of the planning to Sanchez. Known for her taste in high-end fashion and accessories, Sanchez has reportedly curated an elaborate celebration that reflects her signature style and preference for luxury.
