Ariana Biermann, star of Next Gen NYC, recently revealed details about her mother Kim Zolciak’s spending habits, shedding light on a family money issue. On the show’s premiere episode, Ariana claimed her parents took money from her when she was a teenager, leaving her unaware of where it went. Now, she suspects that some of the money was spent on Christmas gifts for her, including luxury items.
In a conversation with co-star Gia Giudice on the podcast Casual Chaos, Ariana explained that she never personally purchased any Chanel bags. Instead, her mother reportedly bought them for her during the holidays using Ariana’s own money—without her knowledge. “Every Chanel bag I have, I have never bought one on my own. My mom has got them for me for Christmas with, apparently, my money. But I just didn’t know, so I guess I did buy one, I just was unaware of it,” she said.
Ariana also emphasized that she is not a big spender herself. She shared that her outfit at the premiere cost about \$200, excluding shoes, which she admitted were an \$800 splurge. Her careful spending was evident on the show when she expressed shock at the \$12,000 monthly rent for an apartment in New York City.
Despite the ongoing revelations about her family’s finances, Ariana stressed that she holds no resentment. “This is not something that I’m angry about. This is not something that I hold resentment in my heart about. I’m just not that kind of person,” she said, hinting that more details will come as the season progresses.
Next Gen NYC airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo and streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
