VidDay, a platform that started with a single birthday video between friends, has grown over the past decade into a global leader in collaborative video gifting. Today, the service is used in more than 180 countries to celebrate birthdays, weddings, graduations, retirements, teacher appreciation, memorials, and many other milestones.
The platform allows users to create meaningful group video gifts without any editing skills. Whether on desktop or mobile, people can choose themes, track invitations, collect video messages and photos, and compile everything into one polished video — all through VidDay’s easy-to-use interface.
VidDay co-founder Denis Devigne recalls the inspiration behind the idea. “When my friend cried and called it ‘the best gift ever,’ I realized it was more than just a video,” he says. “It was a way to bring people together, and I wanted everyone to experience that.”
Over the past 10 years, VidDay has reached several milestones. The platform now has over eight million users across 180 countries. It has supported tree-planting efforts, with more than 100,000 trees planted through gifts and proceeds. VidDay videos have even made their way to the International Space Station. The company has introduced innovations such as CineGreet, which lets people surprise loved ones on the big screen at cinemas, and VideoGreet, which allows users to attach video messages to gifts via QR codes.
Other recent features include VidDay Greetings for personal video eCards and smart invitation tools that automate reminders and track participation. “VidDay isn’t just a video tool,” says CEO Ross Sabourin. “It helps people stay close and share love, no matter how far apart they are.”
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, VidDay is rolling out new products and features. These include AI tools that simplify invites, improve image quality, and assist with editing. The platform now offers a custom theme builder, allowing users to personalize colors, fonts, and backgrounds. New custom song gifts blend technology and human creativity to produce unique music for recipients. Users can also choose tree planting as part of their gift. For lasting keepsakes, VidDay provides options like VideoBooks, USB drives, DVDs, and postcards.
VidDay’s offerings extend beyond individual users. The platform supports businesses and organizations with enterprise partnerships that deliver personalized video solutions at scale.
“We’ve spent a decade refining the most meaningful way to celebrate with video,” Devigne says. “Now we’re helping others share that experience within their own communities.”
From milestone birthdays to graduations and farewell tributes, VidDay makes it simple to gather messages into professional-quality video montages. Its browser-based tools and automatic video assembly combine the ease of a do-it-yourself maker with the finish of a polished production. Notably, VidDay offers free “Get Well” videos as part of its mission to spread kindness.
