The Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA) is celebrating its 30th anniversary by hosting a nationwide photo contest titled *”My Family, My Car.”* The contest runs through June 25 and invites participants to share photographs that capture moments of family life featuring imported vehicles in everyday settings across South Korea.
The competition is open to anyone who has shared daily experiences with an imported car. Entrants can submit up to five photos each. Submissions must be made via a dedicated Google Form, with full contest details available on KAIDA’s official website.
Photos taken with film cameras are also eligible, but must be submitted as digital files. A digital version—either photographed or scanned—is required for judging, and the original photo must also be provided to confirm authenticity. The association notes that photos with low resolution may be penalized during evaluation.
Entries will be judged on five criteria: relevance to the theme, expressiveness, popularity, artistic quality, and usability. Judging will take place from July 1 to July 14, and winners will be announced on July 25 on KAIDA’s website.
One grand prize winner will receive a 3 million won prize. Five second-place winners will receive national tourism gift certificates worth 200,000 won each. Additionally, 100 third-place winners will be awarded mobile gift certificates worth 10,000 won each.
KAIDA Vice President Jeong Yun-Young expressed hopes that the contest will inspire participants to look back fondly on memories involving their families and imported cars. “I hope this photo contest becomes a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the moments when imported cars were more than just vehicles and became part of family life,” he said.
