Belarusian tennis star Aryna Sabalenka and her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, took a moment to celebrate her coach Anton Dubrov’s 30th birthday on June 18. The couple shared heartfelt messages and posted a series of photos honoring Dubrov’s special day.
Since becoming Sabalenka’s coach in 2020, Dubrov has played a key role in her success. Under his guidance, she has won three Grand Slam titles: the 2023 and 2024 Australian Open and the 2024 US Open. Their partnership has helped Sabalenka rise to the top of the WTA rankings, with 14 of her 20 singles titles won during this time.
To mark Dubrov’s milestone, Sabalenka posted a photomontage on Instagram, showcasing him in various fun and candid moments, including during training and taking selfies. She captioned the post simply: “#30 Happy birthday coach.”
Frangulis, who often accompanies Sabalenka and Dubrov on tour, also shared his birthday wishes on Instagram. He posted a picture of Sabalenka holding the 2025 Brisbane International trophy, flanked by himself and Dubrov, with the caption: “Happy birthday monsieur Dubrov. You the man.”
The celebrations continued as Sabalenka began her grass season at the 2025 Berlin Open. She was leading 6-2 in her opening-round match against Rebeka Masarova when play was halted due to slippery conditions on the court. Masarova had raised concerns about the surface, prompting the umpire to stop the match.
Sabalenka, visibly frustrated, questioned the decision during a conversation with the supervisor, asking, “So you’re stopping the match because she said it’s slippery on that side? I just played two games on that side.” Despite her objections, the match was suspended, leading to boos from the crowd. Sabalenka, calm but annoyed, packed her belongings and exited the Steffi Graf stadium with Masarova.
