MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A generous donation of canned cat food is set to ensure that hungry felines in Memphis-area shelters and rescues won’t go to bed with empty bellies Tuesday night.
Memphis Animal Services (MAS) recently received five full pallets of cat food from the pet supplies company Birdie & Louie, marking a record-breaking donation. MAS expressed its gratitude for the unexpected gift, calling it a shining example of community support. “Their passion for giving back to the community shone brightly with this incredible gift, and we were not only grateful, but deeply inspired,” the organization said.
In the spirit of giving, MAS decided to extend the generosity by reaching out to local shelters and rescues. Several organizations agreed to share the donation, ensuring that more cats in the region would benefit. Among those partnering with MAS were the 901 Feral Project, Mewtopia Cat Rescue, Perfect Match Cat Rescue, West Memphis Animal Shelter, Horn Lake Animal Shelter, and Tipton County Animal Shelter.
MAS described the effort as a “heartfelt” example of community collaboration and a moment of pride for everyone involved.
