On Sunday, as the world celebrated Mother’s Day, Major League Baseball (MLB) also paid tribute to moms. Over 30 MLB teams took part in special celebrations. Along with honoring mothers, the league focused on raising awareness about breast cancer.
MLB’s initiative, called MLB Together, organized various activities at stadiums during Sunday’s games. Each game featured a video tribute to mothers.
Players and coaches showed their support by wearing pink clothing items such as socks, wristbands, and batting gloves. Some players even used custom pink bats to highlight the cause.
In addition, players wore pink ribbons on their jerseys as a symbol of breast cancer awareness.
Special Mother’s Day and breast cancer symbols appeared on the bases and lineup cards during the games to remind fans of the day’s significance.
MLB’s pink bat tradition dates back to 2006 and is celebrated annually on Mother’s Day. The league uses the day to thank mothers and educate fans about breast cancer.
