Apple’s latest Mother’s Day ad tells the touching story of a father who used the iPhone to preserve his newborn son’s earliest moments in a deeply personal way.
The video follows Sam, a father who spent a full year filming everyday moments of his baby boy using spatial video on his iPhone. Without telling his wife, Khulan, Sam carefully edited the clips into a home movie designed to be viewed on the Apple Vision Pro. The film allowed Khulan to relive their son’s first year through immersive, lifelike scenes.
On Mother’s Day, Sam surprised Khulan with the finished video and the Apple Vision Pro headset. The experience made it feel as though she was back in those early, tender moments with her child.
Apple notes that spatial photos and videos can be captured on iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max running iOS 18 or later. The feature is also available on iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max with iOS 18.1 or later.
