Stacy Mancuso, a sixth-grade teacher at Fred Thomas Middle School, has been named the winner of the Johnson Orthodontics Teacher Appreciation Week contest. She received a $300 gift card for her classroom and a celebratory pizza party for her students.
The contest, held in May in recognition of National Teacher Appreciation Week, was organized by Jonathan Johnson and his team at Johnson Orthodontics. Patients were invited to nominate teachers who make a difference and explain why they deserve an “A+.” Mancuso was nominated by her student, Lincoln Fyock, and was selected through a random drawing.
Jonathan Johnson, whose parents were both elementary school teachers, said he values the hard work of educators and is committed to supporting local schools. He added that he’s especially thankful for the trust teachers place in him when they allow their students to attend orthodontic appointments during school hours.
Through the contest, Johnson Orthodontics aimed to recognize the vital role teachers play in the lives of students and to give back to those who give so much to their communities.
